KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) defeated the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) 1-0 in the opening match of the fifth National Premier League Football Championship here at the KMC Sports Complex on Tuesday.In this interesting match, Zafar Majeed got PIA take lead when he netted a goal in the 33rd minute and this lead was maintained up to the end of the match.Leading teams of the country are participating in the National Premier League Football Championship. All matches will be played at four grounds of Karachi.This was strange to note that no official of the federation was present in the opening match of the tournament.
