ISLAMABAD: Defence Day of Pakistan is being observed with traditional fervour and solemnity across the country today (Saturday) renewing pledge to render every sacrifice for the defence and security of the country. The day has been dawn with special prayers in the mosques followed by Quran Khawani for those who laid down their lives while defending their motherland in 1965. Various political, social and cultural organisations have chalked out programmes to observe the day by holding seminars, symposia and rallies where speakers would highlight the importance of the day. T.V channels and radio stations would beam special programmes while newspapers would also bring out special supplements highlighting various aspects of the 1965 war.
