SBP release new notes for Eid

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) released Rs28.22 billion worth of currency notes during the holy month of Ramazan.Spokesman SBP Syed Waseemuddin told Geo News that special arrangements have been made for making available new currency notes during the month of Ramazan and on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Fidaen-e-Islam claims responsibility of Isb suicide blast

ISLAMABAD: A militant outfit, Fidaen-e-Islam has claimed responsibility of the suicide attack on Marriott hotel in Islamabad.Militants of the outfit made a telephone call to Geo News and claimed responsibility of the deadly act of September 20. According to Geo News, in a videotaped message forwarded after the telephone call, which is being kept confidential due to security reasons, the group has also made many other demands from the government.

Body of slain envoy returned to Czech Republic

ISLAMABAD: The dead body of Czech ambassador who was killed in the suicide bomb attack on Islamabad’’s Marriott Hotel, was repatriated to Czech Republic through special aircraft. The guard of honour was also given to the slain Czech envoy by a contingent of Pakistan’’s army. The 47-year-old father of two, diplomat Ivo Zdarek named as the Czech ambassador to Pakistan in August, had been living alone at the Marriott Hotel since his arrival last month.
