Zardari-Jiabao meeting underway in New York

NEW YORK: The meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao has begun in New York today (Thursday).Condemning the Islamabad hotel suicide blast, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao said China would continue it support and cooperation for Pakistan. On this occasion, President Zardari thanked Premier Jiabao and people of Chnina for extending full support to Pakistan.Besides, both leaders discussed political issues, bilateral relations and regional situation in the meeting.

Security forces killed 25 militants in Bajaur Agency

PESHAWAR: As many as 25 miscreants were killed and many more wounded in a fierce firefight between the Security Forces and miscreants in Tang Khata area of Bajaur Agency. According to Frontier Corps NWFP press release issued here on Wednesday, the two sides exchanged heavy rocket and mortar fire and the troops routed the miscreants from their locations.Resultantly, 25 miscreants were killed and many more wounded in the skirmish. Miscreants defences in various areas of Bajaur Agency were also engaged using air and combat aviation, including Zor mandal, Rashkai, Loesam, Kausar and Inzari.
