Lawson considering legal action against PCB

ISLAMABAD: Former coach of Pakistan cricket team Geoff Lawson of Australia is considering to take a legal action against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PBC).According to sources, Lawson is in contact with the Australian High Commission in Islamabad.The former coach has refused to leave Pakistan until he is not paid all his dues from the PCB.Sources said that trainer of the Pakistan cricket team David Dyer is also considering to resign from his position.

SAINT PETERSBURG: British player Andy Murray and Spaniard Fernando Verdascoqualified for the semi-finals in the St Petersburg Open Tennis Tournament.Defending champion Andy Murray, top seed of the one-million-dollar ATP event St Petersburg Open, battled into the semi-finals, beating Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia in straight sets here in the first quarter-finals of the tournament, played in Russian city of St Petersburg.The 21-year-old Scott, who is currently fourth in the ATP rankings, won 7-6 (7/5), 7-5 in two hours nine minutes to level his head-to-head record with Tipsarevic at 2-2.Murray, who is seeking his season’’s fifth title here, started confidently breaking early for a comfortable 3-0 lead.
