Pakistan junior hockey team named for test series against India

KARACHI: The Selection of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Sunday named a strong 20-member Pakistan junior hockey squad for the five test match series against India being held in Pakistan later this month. Full-back Muhammad Ateeq has been retained as the Captain of the team while Olympian Kashif Ali will be his deputy Team was named by chief selector Hasan Sardar from among the 36-probables after one-day trials at Hockey Club of Pakistan. The opening test of the series will be played at HCP on November 12. PHF President Qasim Zia, Secretary Asif Bajwa were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Qasim Zia said he will be meeting Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to seek his help from the provincial government for the promotion and development of national sport across the province.He said he will also holding a meeting with City Nazim Syed Mustufa Kamal for the renovation and development of hockey grounds in the city.
