Karachi:Voilence in Sohrab Goth, one killed

KARACHI: One person was killed while seven people including women were injured in violence by an infuriated group at Sohrab Goth and firing by unknown persons.According to police sources, some people in violence near Al-Asif Square at Super Highway blocked the road and also did firing due to which one person was killed and seven people including women were injured.Dead body and three wounded were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and three injured were taken to a local hospital of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.Meanwhile, a powerful explosion was heard before Al-Ameen Arcade near Sohrab Goth.SSP Gulberg Allauddin Abbasi told that the explosion occurred due to a tyre burst in a ground nut cart and explosion of a gas cylinder on the same cart but according to eye witnesses it was a locally-manufactured bomb or a time-device.On receiving the report of the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and took control of the situation.SP Gulshan-e-Iqbal Suhail Chatha told Geo arms were recovered from most of them.Tension spread in the area after the incident and police were deployed there.
