First Hajj flight from Jeddah delayed by 2 hours

QUETTA: The first Hajj flight of PIA carrying the pilgrims from Jeddah to Quetta has been delayed by two hours.The reason for delay of the flight has been stated a technical fault in scanning machine at the Jeddah terminal.

Miandad announces new proposed structure of domestic cricket

KARACHI: Director-general Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Javed Miandad has announced a new proposed structure of domestic cricket.Javed Miandad said that he would make efforts to get the domestic cricket more and more attractive.Talking with media in Karachi, he said that now the domestic cricket would not be run on regions but on the basis of eight associations and 11 departments.The new proposed associations include North Punjab, South Punjab, Lahore, Federal Areas, NWFP, Balochistan, Karachi and Sindh cricket association while in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the matches between regional and departmental teams would be held simultaneously.Javed Miandad said that this system would be implemented from next year but some minor changes are likely to be made.He said that the players were not given monetary help in the past due to which not only cricket but every game saw debacle.

Rockets hit terminal, supplying material to NATO forces

PESHAWAR: A terminal supplying material to the NATO forces was hit by rockets in Peshawar and in result 12 containers were set on fire.Sources said that terrorists fired more than ten rockets at the terminal on Ring Road in Peshawar. This terminal supplies material to the NATO forces.Twelve containers caught fire after the terminal was attacked by rockets. However, fire brigade overcame the fire after struggling for one hour.After the rocket attack, firing was exchanged between the terrorists and the security forces.This was the fourth attack during this week on terminals supplying goods to the NATO forces.

Crack down against Daawa continues in Punjab

LAHORE: The crackdown against Jamaat-ud-Daawa continued in Punjab after ban imposed on the outfit by interior ministry.Chief of Daawa Hafiz Saeed and other key leaders put under house arrest as the police sealed Daawa offices and nabbed many of its activists in several cities.According to police sources, the central office of Dawa Jamia Alqadsia had been sealed in Lahore.In Pak Pattan, police arrested three persons after sealing two centers of Dawa Ayesha Siddiqua and Mubarak Masjid.Meanwhile, seventeen people were arrested during raids in Checha Watni, Vehari, Sahiwal, Bhawalpur, Bhawalnagar, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat and other districts. The police also sealed the offices in these areas.
