RANCHI: Fans of Indian cricket team’’s skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni have planned to build a temple in his hometown Ranchi. Dhoni’’s fan club plans to raise funds through donations and install a 20-foot fibre glass statue of Dhoni.Jitendra Singh, president of the fan club, said that a huge temple would be constructed and prayers would be offered daily.We are building the temple on a sixteen and a half square feet area. We also plan to build an art gallery in around 12000-1250 square feet and have kept around 400 square feet for the idol, said Singh.Dhoni is one of India’’s leading batsman and a fine wicketkeeper and has a massive fan following. The popularity of Dhoni increased immensely after he captained ”Team India” to victory in the inaugural Twenty-20 World cup in 2007.
