ISLAMABAD: Youm-e-Ashur 10th Muharram-ul-Haram will be observed with great reverence and religious fervour all over the country and in Azad Kashmir today (Thursday) to pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions for the supreme sacrifices rendered by them for the cause of truth, justice and righteousness. Alams, Zuljinnah and thousands of mourning processions and Tazias will appear in federal capital, provincial capitals and all major and small cities of the country. Over 110,000 officers and personnel of the Punjab police will perform duties in 35 districts of the province to maintain law and order. Rescue 1122 has also been put on high alert in Rawalpindi on the eve of Youm-e-Ashur and Rangers have also been called in. Stringent security measures have been taken across the country to protect processions and Majalis. Elaborate arrangements have been made to provide medical aid to Azadaran. Ambulances will remain present on the occasion. Leaves of all police officials, bomb disposal squad, medical and paramedical staff of district headquarters hospitals and Edhi centers have been cancelled.
