Rocket attack at Police station vehicle in Bannu

BANNU: Some unknown persons attacked a vehicle of the Mundan police station at D.I. Khan Road in Bannu after which security forces replied with an operation and an exchange of firing continues from both sides.Police sources told Geo News that attack was made through rocket at the Mundan police station vehicle from an unknown direction during patrolling on D.I.Khan Road. However, no loss of life has been reported.As per police, firing with heavy arms continues from security forces against the attackers.According to local people, heavy firing is being exchanged from both sides in the area.

6 suspects arrested in attack on Police check-post

MIANWALI: Six suspects were arrested from various areas for attacking a police check-post Qudratabad of Bachran in Mianwali and killing eight police personnel.As per police, four suspects were arrested from various areas of Mianwali whereas two persons were arrested from Bakhar and they all were shifted to an unknown place. Police avoided to provide further detail in this regard.This may be recalled that two days ago, eight police officials were killed in an attack at the police check-post Qudratabad situated on Sargodha-Mianwali Road.

4000 mw electricity to be added to system by year-end: Raja Pervez

GUJJAR KHAN: Federal minister for water and electricity Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the government is installing a power house on rent for preventing the electricity crisis and 4,000 megawatt electricity would be included in the system by the end of this year.Addressing at the opening ceremonies of the projects of providing gas to various villages in his election constituency of Gujjar Khan, the federal minister said that the government has inherited the power crisis from the previous regime and to overcome this, it is working on various projects with collaboration of private sector.These projects include obtaining electricity through power houses on rent besides installing new power houses.He said that the power generation would be increased by 4,000 mw by the end of this year through government measures due to which load-shedding would be ended.Raja Pervez Ashraf termed the provision of gas to seven villages of Gujjar Khan a milestone in the development of the area and said that 30,000 of population would be benefited by these projects.He said that Rs1.5 billion have been allocated for development projects in his constituency through which the projects of education, health, sanitation and communication would be completed.
