KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister cricket team CM XI has thrashed Governor team Governor XI by six wickets in a demo T20 cricket match played here at Asghar Ali Shah cricket stadium, which ended late on Saturday while the match was telecast live on Geo Super television channel.Governor XI, following the toss win, decided to bat first and managed to put up 153 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.Faisal Subzwali was the top run-scorer with 46 runs while Khalid Ahmed knocked 45 and Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad himself managed to score 12 runs.In return, CM XI chased the target for the loss of just 4 wickets. PESHAWAR: Unknown militants have, yet another time, carried out rocket attack on Nato supply terminal which erupted fire engulfing terminal, located on Ring Road here early on Sunday, Geo news reported.According to sources, unknown militants fired many rockets on Nato supply terminal and devastated several Nato vehicles coupled with torching at least ten containers laden with Nato supply while firefighters have been dispatched to the crime scene to bring fire under control.The intensity of fire forced for ask of more fire tenders while rescue efforts are underway, firefighting sources said.Exchange of fire between police and offenders are underway, sources added.

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Shazia Murree has said that provincial government approved grant of compensation, worth of eighty million rupees, for the victims and bereaved families who fell victim to Landhi bombing while the affectees will soon be provided with the cheques.She was talking to a delegation comprising victims of Landhi bombing occurred on January 2008.Minister ascertained the members of delegation to provide compensation money and justice to the affectees in the earliest possible time.Delegation, during the meeting, apprised Murree of barriers hurdling investigation into the incident.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Police have recovered two hundred-kilogram heroin worth of ten million rupees from a Chinese woman while she was trying to smuggle it to Abu Dhabi here on Saturday, police sources said.Airport sources said officials belonging to security force and anti-narcotics department searched a Chinese woman when she was set to fly to Abu Dhabi here at airport. As a result, two hundred-kilogram heroin was seized from her possession while the lady was arrested and shifted to Multan.

LAHORE: Police have claimed rounding up as many as five suspects including four Afghan nationals during a police raid against alleged Taliban from Kot Chandna area lies in the middle of Punjab-NWFP provinces, police sources said on Saturday.Police said they have also seized heavy weaponry from their custody, sources claimed.According to police sources, a suspected person was apprehended from Kot Chandna area, following the arrest, police raided another place on the indication of arrested person and held four Afghan nationals form there.Police recovered 29 rifles, 8 Kalashnikovs, 50 bullet magazines, 69 pistols, 12 knives and a machine used for marking numbers on weapons from their possession, sources maintained.Five arrested suspected militants have been moved to unidentified place, sources revealed.

PESHAWAR: People have suffered a lot due to persisting and unannounced load-shedding in NWFP including provincial capital Peshawar.Six-hour load shedding is being observed in various cities and districts in NWFP province including Peshawar, Chowk Nasir Khan, Charsada road, Gulbahar, outer Yakka Toot, Agha Meer Jani Shah, and Raheed Garhi areas.Meanwhile, eight-hour power outage is being carried out in remote areas of province.Also, load-shedding is continuous in Charsada, Mardan, Noshera, and other districts of NWFP.Mostly business community has been suffering from power cuts besides, students who are busy in preparation for their matriculation exams.Intensive power outages have also reportedly led to shortage of drinking water in some areas.
