Jolts felt in upper Punjab, tribal areas

PESHAWAR: Jolts were felt in various parts of the country including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sargodha, Abbotabad, Haripur, Mardan, Kotli, Mansehra and Swat.

Also, the tremors of earthquake were felt in tribal areas including Malakand, Khyber Agency and other adjoining areas.

The epicenter was in the border area of Afghanistan and Tajikstan. The severity of quake on Richter scale was 5.1.

Suspected suicide bomber surrenders in DIK: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: At least three security personnel were martyred and six others injured in Malakand during the last 24 hours of ongoing operation in the troubled areas, Geo News reported Sunday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a few terrorists have also been apprehended.

Security forces raided house of a terrorist in Mohalla Nehrabad, Kuza Banda and recovered a Suzuki Pick Up, a Small Machine Gun including two magazines, a Pistol and 175 rounds of miscellaneous caliber.

The security forces continued the relief activities today, as 1,888 tons of rations from Army Supply Depot distributed amongst IDPs of Malakand Division.

Cash cards were distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand at Gordwara Panja Shaif, Hasanabdal.
