ISLAMABAD: The Affordable Homes Group’’s proprietary Z-MIX building system is being considered for housing construction projects throughout the country of Pakistan.
A U.S. finance investment initiative has allocated an approximate $500 million, so that the Government of Pakistan can construct low-moderate income homes, for their citizens, over the next several years.
Company officials have been in discussions with U.S. based representatives of Pakistan to determine the feasibility of locating Z-MIX production facilities in Pakistan. During the week of July 12th, 2009, product technicians will be visiting Pakistan, and efforts are underway to explore that country’’s natural resources and recycled products required to produce the composite Z-MIX building material. Sample product has been shipped for in-country examination and evaluation.
Analysts in both the U.S. and Pakistan believe the production of Z-MIX, with its ability to utilize shredded rubber tires, wood chips and other inert composite materials, will offer the government of Pakistan immediate low cost construction materials for much needed housing in both city and rural areas.
Pakistan has been beset by acute housing shortages due to the forced relocation of many citizens escaping tribal conflict into regions with limited housing stock and construction materials. Thousands of families have been forced to live in tents and other make shift homes that will not provide adequate shelter for the treacherous winter seasons.
Recently, officials for the United States and the United Nations (UN) received Z-MIX presentations in Denver, Los Angeles and Washington from Company management. The Affordable Homes Group representatives expect final contracts and production planning to commence in August 2009.

KARACHI: Former Test cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz severely criticized Pakistan cricket team for its humiliating series defeat from Sri Lanka.
Pakistan lost the second Test match by seven wickets on the third of the match at Colombo conceding the series 2-0 to the home side.
“There is grouping in the team. The team displayed completely irresponsible in both the innings. These are professional players and they shouldn”t play like amateurs. See how youngster Fawad Alam played. If he hadn”t knocked 168 runs then Sri Lanka would have beaten Pakistan on the second day - which most of the players intended to do,” Sarfraz said while talking to Geo News.
He said that the board should be disbanded and it should be brought under the power of the ministry.
“They forced honest selectors to resign and brought in people who are pleasing to them. I have never seen a seven-member committee in the past anywhere in the world,” Sarfraz said.
