COLOMBO: Young batsman Umar Akmal?s brilliant maiden ODI hundred, his brother Kamran Akmal?s dashing 57 and captain Younis Khan?s magnificent 89 helped Pakistan pile up a huge score of 321 runs for five wickets against Sri Lanka in the fourth One-day International (day/night) here on Friday.
Winning the toss, Younis Khan decided to bat and his decision proved right as his batsmen took full advantage of the batting wicket of Premadasa stadium.
Imran Nazir, playing after a long time, opened the innings with Kamran Akmal and both provided a solid start of 61 runs before Imran got out for 23.
Later, Kamran completed his third half-century and also 2,000 runs in One-day International career. He made 57 from 64 balls with seven fours.
Then, Mohammad Yousuf and Misbah-ul-Haq were dismissed quickly for 6 and 9, respectively.
Now, Umar Akmal joined his captain and both were playingstrokes easily all over the ground. Umar was looking more aggressive.
Younis reached his 36th ODI fifty and soon Umar completed his second successive fifty in his only third one-dayer.
They added 176 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Younis departed in the 49th over for 89. He hit only four boundaries.
However, Umar Akmal completed his maiden ODI hundred in the final over and remained unbeaten on 102, his first century in his third One-day International.

ISLAMABAD: The website of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad (FBISE) has been hacked, Geo news reported on Friday.
According to Geo news correspondent, the result of FA, FSC Part-I have been posted on the website a day earlier before the result?s announcement.
The result was to be announced at 11:30am on Saturday, sources said.
Deputy Controller of FBISE said the incident would be thoroughly examined for explanation.

JAFERABAD: Balochistan Minister for Excise and Taxation Sardar Rustom Khan Jamali has been laid to rest in the presence of thousands of mourners in his native village Rojhan Jamali.
Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raeesani, former premier Mir Zafarullah Jamali, provincial ministers including Asim Gilo, Younis Malazai and other important personalities and citizens attended his funeral in Jafarabad area of Austa Muhammed.
Later on, his body was brought to Rojhan Jamali, where he was laid to rest in his native graveyard.
The deceased?cousin of Zafarullah Jamali and nephew of Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Muhammed Jamali– was killed in Karachi area of Gulistan-e-Jauhar yesterday.
The district Jafarabad is witnessing shutter down today.

TANK: At least 18 persons were killed and four sustained injuries in a pre-dawn attack at the offices of peace committee at Mullazi and Umerada Ada in Tank district, an official of district police said.
Around 200 militants equipped with automatic weapons attacked the offices of peace committees headed by Turkistan group at around 2am, killing nine persons instantly and wounding four others.
The dead identified are Usman son of Shah Duran, Hazrat, Baitullah Khan son of Rehmatullah Khan, Syed Hassan, Azizullah, Jehanzai, Zarai Khan and Mian Gul while Mian Gul son of Ikram, Zahoor Ahmed, Syed Ayaz and another person sustained injuries.
The firing continued for about two hours. There are reports that militants were also killed in retaliation firing. They took the bodies along taking advantage of darkness.
The death toll may increase as condition of some of the members was stated to be critical. The injured were rushed to local hospital. Soon after the incident police cordoned off the area and started search operation.
The sources said Ismatullah Shaheen?a close aide of Baitullah Mehsud?took away with them the bodies of 11 extremists.
It should be pertinent to mention here that the supporters of Baitullah Mehsud and Turkistan are locked in hostilities with the latter group on the side of the government. The attacks on the Peace Committee?s office claimed the lives of 18 persons from both the sides.

LAHORE: Pakistan?s two-member chess team will leave for India tomorrow for participating in the Asian Zone 3.5 Chess Championship which is also the qualifying round of the World Chess Championship.
The Asian Zone 3.5 Chess Championship will be held from August 9 to 18 in the Indian capital, Delhi.
Players from Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh and Nepal will take part in the championship.
Pakistan will be represented in the event by Aamer Karim and Taveer Gilani.
