KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Q General Secretary Mushahid Hussain Sayed has said that his party wants to see peace and stability in Karachi ?for which MQM is playing a key role?.
He said this at a joint press conference with MQM Coordination members after holding a meeting with the members of MQM Coordination Committee here at Nine Zero on Thursday.
Earlier, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and other leaders were accorded a warm welcome upon their arrival at Nine Zero by members of MQM Coordination Committee.
Member MQM Coordination Committee Shoaib Bukhari on the occasion termed the visit by PML-Q leadership as a friendly visit in which, he said, nothing political was discussed.
Chaudhry Shujaat said love holds greater importance than politics and it is the love of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain that brought him here.

KARACHI: The nation is celebrating the 63rd Independence Day of Pakistan today (Friday) with traditional zeal and fervor and firm determination to safeguard security and solidarity of the country in the face of diverse challenges.
The day will dawn with a thirty one gun salute at the federal and twenty one gun salute at the provincial capitals. Special prayers will be offered for the prosperity, integrity and solidarity of the country and the unity of the Muslim ummah after fajr prayers.
The main event of the day will be an impressing flag hoisting ceremony at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad where Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani will unfurl the national flag. It will be followed by the playing of the national anthem. The Prime Minister will also address the nation after the flag hoisting ceremony.
Similar flag hoisting ceremonies would also be held at the provincial capitals and district headquarters. A number of organizations, political parties, educational institutions and social and literary societies have also planned functions to highlight different aspects of the struggle for Pakistan and life of the heroes of independence movement.

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) panel formed to resolve the Indian board’’s opposition to the World Anti-Doping Agency “whereabouts” clause will convene in Dubai on Sept. 5-6 to discuss the issue.
