MIRANSHAH: At least four including three security men were killed, when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a check post on Mir Ali road in North Waziristan Agency, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Mir Ali Road has been blocked for the traffic. The law enforcement agencies put a security cordon around the blast site.
The injured and bodies have been shifted to the hospital.
The attack took place outside Miranshah, the main town of restive North Waziristan tribal district, bordering Afghanistan.
“Three security personnel, one from the army, one paramilitary and a tribal policeman, were killed and three others were inured in the suicide bombing at Isha checkpost,” a security official said.
Another security official and intelligence officials based in the area confirmed the incident.
“The bomber struck his car into the security post, which exploded after the impact,” the official said.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said he sacked the chairman of Pakistan Steel Mills Moeen Aftab Sheikh, in response to a news item in Geo News Programme ?Aaj Kamran Khan kay Saath? regarding corruption in the mills.
Addressing the National Assembly, he said he ordered an inquiry against him and directed the authorities to submit to him a report in this connection, adding there were myriad reports on media regarding corruption in PSM.
The PM Gilani said Public Accounts Committee can take notice on corruption reports, adding he wants complete audit of the PSM.
The PM Gilani said the institutions of the country should be strong, adding he is great proponent of accountability and the PM house could be the beginning point for the purpose.
He also remarked that census will be held as soon as the situation improves in the country, adding the nation cannot improve without it.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Parliamentary leader of the MQM Dr Farooq Sattar Tuesday said his party Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has submitted Adjournment Motion against Local Government system.
Talking to media outside Parliament House, Farooq Sattar said he hoped NA Speaker will hold discussion over the motion, adding Local Bodies system, local governments are nurseries of the democracy, accordingly, they should remain intact.
He urged the parties boasting of democracy not to oppose the LB system.

LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to immediately bring the impounded sugar in Ramazan bazaars and other markets.
He said the rights of general consumers would be protected fully. He issued theses orders in a meeting held to review the ongoing campaign against the sugar hoarders.
Chief Minister ordered not to harass the small shopkeepers, adding however no leniency will be offered to hoarders.
He said the government had to launch crackdown and he will himself take on the spot action.
Meanwhile, Food Department officials told the CM the sugar crisis took place due to bookmaking and after the crackdown, the punters cancelled their deals and returned the tokens.
According to the officials, more than one million tonnes of sugar has so far been impounded from the hoarders.
