LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that PPP and PML-N are equal victims and sufferers of the dictatorship of Pervez Musharraf.
Talking to media at the residence of Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali in Kachhi Kothi area here Sunday, he said both the parties and their leadership faced exile and hardships in jails for long years.
To a question, he said, nothing has so far been agreed between PPP and PML-N on the trial of former President Pervez Musharraf. Though both have same feelings in this regard, there can be a difference of opinion on the mode and procedure of his trial, he added.
The Prime Minister said, ?We have very good relations with PML-N from the day one, and we are friends and brothers.
I am constantly in touch with President Asif Ali Zardari, Punjab Chief Minister as well as PML-N leadership on all important issues including the sugar crisis.?
Responding to a question, Gilani said, the government has recently taken decision on the sugar issue, which will soon be streamlined and people will have no problems in this regard.
The terrorists are fast losing their strength and will soon be eliminated from the country, he responded to a questioner.
To another question, he observed that present government is a democratic government and there is no minus one formula in the democracy.

KARACHI: Seven suspects have been arrested from Baloch Colony area, DIG CID Saood Mirza said here on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference, the DIG CID said that the suspects are associated with a banned outfit and that further investigation from them is underway.

PESHAWAR: Price of milk has reached Rs58 per litre in many areas of Peshawar as the month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak has begun.
Despite campaign against price hike and the government claims, price of milk went up to Rs58 per litre in Peshawar as it was Rs40 per litre before Ramazan.
Beides, yogurt is being sold at Rs65 per kg instead of Rs46 per kg.
Citizens have demanded to concerned authorities for controlling the prices of milk.

ISLAMABAD: The Taliban insurgents have killed Baitullah Mehsud?s father in law and some other people on suspicion of their involvement in the killing of their former chief, claimed Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik here on Sunday.
In interview to a British news channel, Rehman Malik said he is making the above claim on the basis of the kind of information on which he disclosed the news of the death of former chief of banned Tehree-e-Taliban Pakistan, Baitullah Mehsud.
So far the claim could not have been confirmed from the Taliban or any independent source.
He confirmed that Baitullah Mehsud is dead and added that it can be part of a policy of the government not to confirm 100 percent the news of his death.
According to sources, the Taliban had taken arrested Baitullah Mehsud?s father in law Ikramuddin, his son Ziauddin, brother Saeedullah and nephew Iqbal Mehsud on charges of spying against the TTP chief.
Maulana Ikram-ud-Din, father in law of Baitullah was also his close aid and working as coordinator between Baitullah and people coming to meet him outside Taliban organizational structure.
The Taliban had gunned down Mehsud?s driver for spying soon after the drone attack killed Baitullah Mehsud.

KARACHI: Despite government claims, electricity supply remained suspended at Sehri hours in different parts of the country, piling miseries on the people.
The federal government had announced no load shedding at Sehar and Iftar hours, but on the very first day of the holy month of Ramazan different cities and towns all across the country including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Sukkur went through the irksome suspension of electricity at the Sehri hours.
Islamabad area I-10, Karachi?s Delhi Colony, Gulburg, Nohammad Ali Town, Kot Lakhpat and Sandra in Lahore, while many parts of Sukkur remained deluged in darkness causing inconvenience to the citizens in making arrangements for the Sehi on the first day of fasting month.
District Karak including North Waziristan and Parachanar also suffered the power outage during Sehri hours.

SWAT: Security forces have arrested militants from various areas of Swat while houses of two commanders have been destroyed.
Curfew has been relaxed in various areas of the district.
Sources said that the security forces arrested 40 suspects during the search operation in Beshbund, an area of Charbagh tehsil in Swat while houses of two extremist commanders in the area of Sertaligram were destroyed.
Meanwhile, two extremists surrendered themselves to the forces in Gul Jabba, an area of tehsil Kabal.
All markets and bazars in Mingora are open today despite weekly holiday and a rush of people is being seen here.
According to Swat Media Centre, curfew will be relaxed upto 9-00 pm in Mingora, Kabal and Kanju, upto 6-00 pm in Khwazakhela, Matta, Warshkhela, Peochar and Madyan.
