No understanding with govt on Musharraf?s trial: Nisar

LAHORE: Opposition leader in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Saturday said there is no understanding between his party and the government on the issue of Musharraf?s trial.

In an interview, Chaudhry Nisar said Muttahida Qaumi Movement should pull itself out of the politics of blame and clarified that PML-N Chief and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had asked the then president Ghulam Ishaque Khan to stop the 92 operation.

He said PML-N has no intention to bring all the issues on to the streets and that PML-N makes its own decision.

Chaudhry Nisar said the difference with General (Retd.) Aslam Baig was the result of his statement against the government policy during Gulf war.

He said General (Retd.) Ali Kuli and Pervez Musharraf were equal in ranks.

He maintained that the then president Ghulam Ishaque Khan was against the operation in Karachi and that Nawaz Sharif, who was prime minister then, also asked the president to stop the operation.
