ISLAMABAD: The Deputy High Commissioner of Indiain Islamabad was called to the Foreign Office on Friday and Indian protest on Gilgit-Baltistan self-rule order was rejected.
The Foreign Office Director General (South Asia) emphasized that Pakistan rejects the Indian protest as the Government of India has no locus standi in the matter.
A press release issued by the Foreign Office stated that the Government of Pakistan also rejects the Indian claim that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. “Pakistan’’s position on Jammu and Kashmir dispute is based on relevant UN resolutions.”
Two protest notes were handed over to the High Commission for Pakistan in New Delhi today by the Ministry of External Affairs of India, on the Gilgit-Baltistan (Empowerment and Self-Governance Order, 2009); and construction of Bunji Dam in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

LAHORE: Following the blasts occurred within Indian premises nearing Wagha border, the emergency meeting of Baharti Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers has kicked off here late on Friday, Geo news reported.

ISLAMABAD: Task Force for Agriculture has decided to forward its recommendation for import of 400,000 tonnes urea for Rabi season crops.
The task force which met here with Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture in the chair, reviewed the availability of urea for Rabi season crops.
The meeting also reviewed the country?s wheat stocks and decided to keep 25 tonnes wheat as safety stock.
It was also decided that support price for rice will be determined to protect the rights of rice farmers.

KARAK: Oil Gas Development Company (OGDC) has discovered oil and natural gas with its Nashpa No. 1 exploratory well, drilled in Karak district in NWFP.
The well flowed 4,200-barrel oil and 17 mmcfd of natural gas per day.
OGDC officials told Geo News that the discovery was made upgradation of the Nashpa Well-1 in Karak.
Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Government Holding Petroleum Limited are jointly working on this discovery.
Earlier, 3000 barrels of oil and 9.7 mmcfd gas had been discovered from the same place on August 31. 2009.
