LAHORE: The president Federation of International Hockey (FIH) Liando Nagray has arrived here at Allam Iqbal International airport late on Monday, Geo news reported.
High-level officials from Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) including the Secretary Asif Bajwah himself accorded him warm welcome at airport.
Talking to media at airport the president FIH said he felt proud and was very delightful to have arrived here in Pakistan.
According to sources, he is scheduled to hold meetings with Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif besides, attending luncheon hosted in his honour from Governor Punjab Salman Taseer.
Subsequently, he will hold two-day visit to Islamabad to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and other top officials in Pakistan, sources said.
Also, he is scheduled to attend Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Gold Hockey Tournament (SBGHT) as chief guest, starting from October 15, while he will stay in Lahore on October 16 and 17 to conclude his visit, sources informed media.

QUETTA: Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case has been registered against former president Pervez Musharraf, former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, former Chief Minister Balochistan Jaam Yousuf, former Interior Minister Balochistan Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and former Home Minister Balochistan Shoaib Nosherwani here in City Police Station of Dera Bugti, Geo news reported.
According to sources, the Governor NWFP Awais Ahmed Ghani has also been named in the FIR but he will be investigated after completion of his office term.
It is pertinent to mention that Balochistan High Court (BHC) ordered registration of Nawab Akber Bugti case against former High-ups of then government when Akber Bugti was murdered.

WASHINGTON: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has called on US vice-president Joseph Baiden here on Tuesday, Geo news reported.
According to details, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi held meeting with US vice-president Joseph Baiden here while matters pertaining to Kerry-Lugar Bill came during discussion.

QUETTA: The vice-president Jamhori Watan Party (JWP) Dr. Aslam Mirza was shot dead here in Shaal Kot area on Tuesday morning, Geo news reported.
According to sources, his diver also lost his life during the ambush while police said the incident took place as he was on his way to home through Akhterabad of Shaal Kot area when unknown armed militants opened fire on him, killing him two on the spot.
The unidentified miscreants succeeded to flee the crime scene, police sources added.
Following the tragedy, police arrived on the scene and shifted dead bodies to Bolan Medical Complex while the murder cases were lodged against anonymous miscreants, police sources added.

KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Tuesday witnessed bearish trends owing to the hardships in the new system of margin in the market.
The benchmark 100-index closed at 9686 up 44 points.
The stock market opened in positive territory with an addition of 56 points to the index; however, due to technical problems in the new system of financing, the investors faced hardships, thus, the stock market, despite being bullish, could not register it through trade volume.
Meantime, the brokers voiced their reservations on the new system of margin. While, KSE management said the new system is well afoot.
Today, the market registered the trade volume of 118.6 million shares, led by Arib Habib Securities, which closed at Rs48.6 up Rs2.20.
According to analysts, if the irregularities are removed from the new margin system, a new positive wave can provide a spur to the trade activity.
