WANA: Heavy mass evacuation of civilian people has got underway from parts of South Waziristan Agency (SWA) in order to minimize civilian deaths during likely military operation in the agency, Geo news reported.
The top national leadership has given Pakistan army green signal to launch a massive military operation against militants in SWA during Friday meeting here at PM House.
According to details, the high-level meeting of civil and military leadership, with PM Gilani in chair, has agreed to kick off the massive army offensive against suspected hiding Taliban in the agency.
According to sources, army troops have been deployed between Afghan border and Baitullah Mehsud area meanwhile, curfew for an indefinite period has been imposed in many parts of SWA and massive mass evacuation has kicked off to avert civilian causalities.
Government sources said the military operation in SWA will last for 2 months while Special Support Group (SSG) will complete mass evacuation comprising of 1,20,000 people as late as Sunday night.

LAHORE: The chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ejaz Butt has said after holding PCB meeting at Gaddafi Stadium that no decision on new captain as yet neither did accept Younis resignation, Geo news reported Friday.
According to board officials they did not discuss Younis Khan?s resignation amid top officials? meeting here today but one thing was sure that was, not to accept Younis resignation.
Talking to Geo news, PCB chairman said media seem more worried about decision on new captain and conditions being placed by board or player but board has not decided on appointment of new captain thus far.

PESHAWAR: The NWFP minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Sardar Hussain Babak has presented to CM Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, the annual performance report on education, Geo news reported.
According to report, as many as 13 projects in secondary education sector were accomplished successfully while at least 100 primary schools were promoted to middle class level and five secondary schools were reconstructed besides provision of clean water supply to 300 schools.
Over 247 million rupees were spent to make several schools efficient while 120 new schools were set up and 200 new classes were constructed in separate schools across province, report said.
Total 3,20,000 people are being educated at 14,000 literary centers, it added.
