SC reserves verdict on Dogar?s plea

ISLAMABAD: Justice Ghulam Rabbani of the Supreme Court here Tuesday held in-chamber proceedings on pleas filed by former justice Abdul Hameed Dogar over the recent return of his two petitions by the Registrar with objections and reserved judgement.

Naeem Bukhari, counsel for the petitioner, concluded his arguments after which Justice Rabbani reserved judgements, which is likely to be announced on Wednesday.

Altaf asks vote for candidates from middle class

GILGIT: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain urged the people in Gilgit-Baltistan to vote for the candidates belonging to the middle class for the Legislative Assembly.

Leaders including NWFP governor, CM grieved over blast

PESHAWAR: Various leaders including the NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, Chief Minister Amir Hyder Khan Hoti Tuesday condemned the Charsadda blast and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the blast.

Ghani held the blast as extremely cowardly and inhuman act. The NWFP CM also held the incident enormously regretful and ordered the immediate inquiry into the blast. He also directed the hospital administration to give all possible medical care to the injured.

Awami National Party (ANP) central leader Asfandyar Wali Khan, provincial president Senator Afrasiab Khattak also condemned the blast in strongest possible words.

Pakistan People?s Party (PPP) provincial Vice President Afsarul Mulk and PPP-Sherpao chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao also voiced sympathy with the affected families.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman, provincial Amir Maulana Gul Naseeb and Secretary Information Abdul Jalil Jan also expressed deep grief over the incident.

Jamaat Islami (JI) NWFP Amir Prof Ibrahim, General Secretary Shabbir ahmed Khan and Peshawar Amir Sabir Hussain Awan also denounced the blast and held it against the humanity.
