RAWALPINDI: Seven terrorists have been killed while 2 soldiers embraced Shahadat and as many were injured including an officer in the ongoing operation Reh-e-Nijat in South Waziristan in the last 24 hours.

Security forces are consolidating their positions and conducting extensive search and clearance operations in various parts of Shakai ? Kaniguram Axis.
During search operation at Torwam, north of Boya and Ghani Khel area, a number of weapons and ammunition including IEDs material has been recovered.
Village Kaniguram has been completely searched and cleared. During clearance, 8 tunnels inside the compounds have been discovered along with number of weapons and ammunition.
Security forces are in the process of clearing Makeen and expanding their area of domination in Razmak- Makeen Axis
A intense fire exchange took place at newly established check post at Fort Knoll. Resultantly, 7 terrorists were killed. Two soldiers including an officer got injured.
During clearance operation of point 6044 near Makeen, security forces recovered 1 x 14.5 mm gun along with 270 rounds, 1 x 30 mm gun along with 120 rounds, 20 rifles of different types, 11 Explosive (TNT) material, 3 Directional mines and number of detonators, Plenty of ammunition of different types.
During operation Rah-e-Rast in Swat-Malakand, 3 terrorists voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Chuprial, Dagai and Kabbal.
Security forces conducted search operation at Manglour, Mingora and apprehended 3 suspects.

ISLAMABAD: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani Wednesday condemned the spate of terrorist attacks on civilians and termed it an act of cowardice and frustration.
He was chairing the 123rd Corps Commanders? Conference was held at General Headquarters. The conference was part of regular monthly meetings.
COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in his opening remarks condemned the spate of terrorist attacks on civilians and termed it an act of cowardice and frustration. He said that since terrorists were incapable of confronting the military operation, they were targeting innocent civilians. He reaffirmed that the public could not be cowed down through such acts of terrorism rather resolve of the Nation got further strengthened to eliminate the menace of terrorism in all its forms and manifestation.
COAS also paid rich tributes to all officers and soldiers who have laid down their lives in our fight against terrorism.
Matters of operational preparedness and professional significance were also discussed and the participants expressed their satisfaction on the state of preparedness of the Army and successful conduct of operation Rah-e-Nijat.
