Salman Farooqi rejects NRO-based allegations

ISLAMABAD: The Secretary General of President Asif Ali Zardari, Salman Farooqi has dejected the allegations based on NRO leveled on him from State Minister for Law, Geo news reported.

According to sources, he claimed to have been involved in a fake court case on political bases while, as per his statement, he was above question from any charge in connection with illegal allotment of textile quota.

Farooqi also expressed his readiness to face court in order to prove himself innocent, sources said.

Traffic on National Highway clogged for 6 hours

THATTA: People have been suffering a lot, as the traffic on National Highway nearing Thatta city has been clogged for last six consecutive hours owing to a road accident over there, Geo news reported on Monday morning.

According to sources, an accident between pickup van and trawler occurred on National Highway near Thatta early on Sunday before dawn, leaving the highway blocked for traffic for last six hours.

GM Jatoi dead body in Karachi

KARACHI: The dead body of Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi has arrived here at Karachi airport from London, Geo news reported on Sunday while he will be laid to rest in his native city Noshero Feroz.

According to sources, his son Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi was also along his corpse while a large number of NPP activists received in grief his body along with his relatives and sons here at airport.

His funeral prayer has been scheduled to be said in New Jatoi at 1400 hours meanwhile, provincial local body government minister Agha Siraj Durrani and other key political personalities were also present on the occasion, sources said.
