Investigation committee formed after CJP motorcade has accident

ISLAMABAD: An investigation committee has been set up after Chief Justice of Pakistan?s (CJP) motorcade meet an accident near Islamabad motorway, while two traffic policemen have been arrested besides suspension of an In-charge Inspector and issuance of show-cause notice to the concerned Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

CJP Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry was on way to Islamabad from Lahore via motorway and the accident took place when his motorcade hit by another vehicle coming from the opposite side immediately after leaving the Islamabad motorway, due to which vehicles of the caravan collided with each other ? however CJP and his family members did not sustain any injuries in the mishap fortunately.

The injured were shifted and provided medical treatment in various hospitals.

CJP Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry visited PIMS and Polyclinic Hospitals and inquired about the health of his staff members hurt in the accident.

A high-level investigation committee has been set up after the incident.

Meanwhile, two policemen of Islamabad traffic police have been arrested, one In-charge Inspector suspended and a show-cause notice issued to DSP Circle asking why a vehicle was parked the wrong way on the route of the CJP.
