Pakistan has denied visa to People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti for attending a conference to be held in Islamabad from tomorrow. No official reason was given for declining the visa to the PDP leader.

Desert International Car Rally in Jhal Magsi

JHAL MAGSI: The Desert International Car Rally is being organized in the mountainous areas of Nagore in Jhal Magsi, Balochistan.

Well known racers belonging to all four provinces are participating in this rally.

A 195-km track has been made for the rally and it will pass through difficult mountainous ways.

Rally will have three categories and high-powered vehicles have been included in category A.

High alert security has been arranged on this occasion.

Member National Assembly Aamir Khan Magsi and his companion Afzal Khan were injured in car racing but their condition is out of danger.

Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi will give away prizes to the winners at the end of the car rally.

PPP-MQM differences on administrator?s issue persist

KARACHI- In its core committee meeting, Pakistan People?s party (PPP) Saturday urged the appointment of government officials as administrators while Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is persistent with the appointment of political administrators.

Senior Provincial Minister Pir Mazharul Haq, Agha Siraj Durrani, Syed Murad Ali, Rashid Rabbani and Rafiq Engineer represented the PPP in the core committee meeting held here at the Chief Minister?s House.

While Dr. Farooq Sattar, Sardar Ahmed and Kanwar Naveed Jamil represented the MQM.

According to sources, the center of discussion was the local body system, which is ending on 31 December.

MQM handed over the draft to PPP comprising proposals regarding local body system while PPP indicated to respond on this matter after consultation in the next core committee meeting.

Sources further said PPP wants to replace current mayors with government officials as the administrators on December 31, at the time when existing local body system will be transferred to provinces from the center.

PPP to fight cases in courts: minister

PESHAWAR: Federal Minister Najam-ud-Din Khan has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will fight its cases in the courts while tendering resignations without proven guilty is out of question.

Quetta: 43 Afghanis repatriated via Chaman border

QUETTA: Forty-three Afghanis, who served their term in Quetta prison, have been handed over to the Afghan authorities at Chaman border.

According to FC sources, these 43 Afghanis were arrested on illegally staying in various parts of Quetta. They were arrested under Foreign Act and detained in Quetta District Prison.

A court awarded these people sentence of one-month imprisonment.
