HAFIZABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira Sunday said if politicians are to be held accountable, then generals and judiciary should also be put through this process.
He expressed the above views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Hafizabad Press Club.
?If politicians have been held accountable throughout since 1970, then why not the same be chosen for judiciary since 2007,? the Information Minister questioned.
?The army and judiciary had been conspiring in the past,? he said.
He said presently the army is fighting against the scourge of terrorism with patience and valour. However, he said, smashing the Taliban mindset is not an easy task.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said when the government tried to bring an end to load-shedding through rental power plants, an uproar was created in the country, pushing the country behind by six months. ?Now no one is ready to come up with immediate investment.?
He said 800 MW electricity will come on line from this month from the new power plants.
The government is in the process of building Bhasha Dam for which the Musharraf led regime did not purchase even a single inch of land.
