ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Monday asked as to who has given authority to the ministers of Pakistan People?s Party to issue statements meant to disintegrate the country?
He said this while addressing the National Assembly session here.
Chaudhry Nisar said a close friend of President Asif Ali Zardari and provincial Minister has spoken about disintegration of the country and urged PPP to prevent its ministers from issuing such statements.
He said the fate of the nation does not hinge on a single person.
?We will not cast vote of confidence both in Punjab Assembly and National Assembly,? he announced.
The Opposition Leader said Ms Benazir Bhutto never in her life mentioned ?Sindh Card?.

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Salman Taseer said on Monday that his party would not accept the appointment of administrators for one year in province.
Speaking at a ceremony about the martyrdom of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto here, he said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would win if Local Government elections were held within three months.
He said there are talks about good governance in Punjab where there are no education or health ministers. Taseer said that Sharif brothers were international defaulters in Al-Taufiq Trust case.
The governor said that the statement given by Shahbaz Sharif about President Zardari?s resignation forced him to speak.

LAHORE: President Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Dillawar Abbas said that the training camp for Davis Cup tie against Hong Kong would begin in the first week of February in Islamabad and Rasheed Malik would be non-playing captain.
Talking with media in Lahore, Dilawar Abbas said that Aisam-ul-Haq, Aqeel Khan, Jaleel Khan and Yasir Khan would be included in Pakistan team while three junior players including Faizan Khurram would also be invited at the camp for encouraging junior players.
He said that tennis is being harmed due to present situation of the country and no team is willing to come to Pakistan so the International Tennis Federation is forced to hold all events in other countries. Thus, the PTF is bearing an annual loss of at least ten million rupees due to which the junior development programme is being affected.

KARACHI: Two percent rise has been recorded in violence against women in 2009 over non-implementation of laws, Director Aurat Foundation Shabina Ayaz told Geo on Monday.
She said incidents of violence against women have seen a two percent rise during last year as compared to 2008. She said that non-implementation of laws protecting women have led to this increase.
Some 328 cases of violence against women were registered during the last six months, in which some of these women were murdered due to minor reasons.
While 70 women had suffered domestic violence, out of which 22 committee suicide, 14 were killed in the name of honor killing, five became victims of gang rape while 27 more women were targeted for various reasons.
