LAHORE: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan urged President Zardari to improve governance and remove corruption instead of holding a darbar (public court).
Addressing the Friday prayers gathering here, he said that President Zardari could not gain popularity by holding darbar only.
Hasan said that as NRO was declared unconstitutional, President Zardari took vote of confidence from three provinces. He, however, decided to hold darbar in Lahore after Punjab Assembly refused to give him vote of confidence.
About Dr. Aafia issue, the JI Amir said that he does not expect justice from the US court, advising the government to approach International Court of Justice in this regard.

LAHORE: A legal notice was served to film actress Meera on Friday for vacating her Defense bungalow within a period of 15 days.
The notice was sent to Meera by a Lahore-based resident Raja Khalid.
The notice said that Meera had sold her Defense bungalow U-92 at the cost of Rs20 million, but had not vacated it.
She was asked to hand over the custody of house within 15 days, it said.
On the other hand, Meera denied she sold her house or received any legal notice in this regard.

KARACHI: Authorities have handed over to family in Karachi the body of Pakistani fisherman, Noor Alam, who died in India?s Gujrat prison.
According to the fisheries officials, Noor Alam was apprehended along with 6 other fishermen by Indian security forces in the disputed sea limits of Sir Creek in October 2008 and put him in Gujrat prison Jamnagar.
Noor Alam had fallen ill and died on December 18, 2009.
The officials of foreign office and fisheries carried out the required process and handed over the deceased?s body to his family in Pakistan on Friday.
Noor Alam was a resident of Ibrahim Hyderi in Karachi.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minsiter Yousuf Raza Gilani said Friday that the federal government?s new relief package will help NWFP to cover the losses it suffered over terrorism.

KABUL: Foreign ministers of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran are holding an important meeting in Islamabad on Saturday to discuss matters relating to Afghanistan.
Afghanistan?s foreign minister is arriving in Islamabad today while the Iranian foreign minister will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow for the tripartite meeting.
The meeting is set to have an exchange of views on war on terror besides cooperation for establishing peace in Afghanistan.
