ISTANBUL: President Asif Ali Zardari was accorded a warm welcome when he landed at the Ataturk International Airport here on Sunday to begin a four-day visit of Turkey to attend two back-to-back international summit meetings.
Governor of Istanbul, Muamar Guler and Mayor Kadir Topbas, received the President who will participate in the Tripartite Summit with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Monday and in a seven-Nation regional Istanbul Summit, involving Afghanistan and its six neighbours, a day later.
In his engagements on Sunday, President Zardari will meet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan while President Gul will host a dinner in his honour.
During his visit, the President will also hold talks on bilateral cooperation and enhanced trade with Turkish leaders.
