AJK judicial crisis to be over soon: Haider

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has given an assurance to resolve the ongoing judicial crisis in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible, Prime Minister AJK Raja Farooq Haider said Friday.

He expressed these views while speaking at a lawyers? convention at Kashmir House here.

Haider hoped that AJK crisis would be resolved in a similar manner Prime Minister Gilani had ended Pakistan?s judicial crisis.

He said that independent judiciary was a must for the dispensation of justice.

No plan to shut PSM: Bijarani

ISLAMABAD: Rejecting media reports about the closure of Pakistan Steels Mill for six months to one year, Federal Minster for Industries and Production Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani Friday said that the government would soon announce a bailout package for the plant.

Despite Bijarani?s remarks, the PSM workers continued to protest against the ongoing crisis.

On this occasion, United Workers Front members said that they would not let the government to shut down the steel mill.

They called for bringing the looted money back to the mill so that crisis could be overcome.

Speaking to Geo, Bijarani said that the ministry was taking an approval from the finance ministry for the bailout package.

Sindh inmates allowed 4 conjugal visits a year

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh Friday allowed conjugal visits to prisoners for once after every three months within the premises of jail.

The facility, however, will be provided to the prisoners serving at least five year in jail.

According to a notification issued today, prisoners will have to produce their nikahnama (wedding certificate) before the jail superintendent. While the inmates with one than one wives will be given alternate days.

It said the children under the age of 6 would also be allowed to accompany their mother to the jail.

However, this facility will not be provided to those involved in anti-state crimes or terrorism.
