Pakistan forex reserves slip below $16 bln

KARACHI: Pakistan’’s total liquid foreign exchange have declined below 16 billion dollars to 15.877 billion on June 4, 2010, State Bank of Pakistan said Thursday.

According to break-up, forex reserves held by SBP were 12.143 billion dollars and net foreign reserves held by banks (other than SBP) $3.733 billion dollars.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said he would talk Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif about manhandling of PPP MNA from Muzaffargarh Jamshed Dasti by police.

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Thursday said that situation in southern Punjab is not in a state to give rise to a need for launching an operation in the region and that there exists no ?no go? area there.

Players? morale high at camp, says Salman Butt

LAHORE: Vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team Salman Butt said here on Tuesday that the players at the training camp are working hard and their morale is high for displaying good performance at the Asia Cup and on the tour of England.

Talking with media on the inauguration of the summer camp at the Model Town Greens Academy, Salman Butt said that players are working hard at the camp and no body has any fitness problem.

He said that Shoaib Akhtar is considered as one of the best bowlers in the world and the team would be benefited by his presence.

Salman said that there are junior players along with the seniors and there is a good chance for them to show talent and make permanenet place in the team.
