Liaquat calls for withdrawal of anti-media resolution

LAHORE: Secretary General Jamat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch Sunday demanded of the Punjab government to withdraw the resolution against media and seek apology from the journalist community.

Speaking with various delegations here at Mansoora, Liaquat Baloch said no resolution can be tabled before assembly without government permission, adding, it is wrong to claim that an MPA presented it in his personal capacity.

He said the announcement of Nawaz Sharif, in which he called for expelling the MPA from the party, is in clash with the parliamentary norms.

The JI leader maintained that the provincial administrative structure has suffered a severe blow due to the violation of merit and non-cooperation of bureaucracy.
