PESHAWAR: Security forces backed by gunship helicopters and fighter jets targeted militants positions in Orakzai Agency, killing 24 militants and injuring 34 including a key militants? commander Taj Gul.
According to FC sources, two training facilities of militants and a weapons storage were also demolished during the action.
The security forces pounded militants? hideouts in Saiful Dar, Mamuzai, Shakar Tangi and Shahukhel areas of Orakzai Agency.

DUBAI: Faisal Shahzad, Pakistan-born American who has admitted to trying to set off a car bomb in Times Square said in a video taped before the failed attack it was to avenge the U.S. war in Afghanistan, Al Arabiya television said on Wednesday.
“This attack on the United States will also be a revenge attack for all the mujahideen,” a man purported to be Faisal Shahzad said on the video aired by the television.
“Eight years have passed since the Afghanistan war and you shall see how the Muslim war has just begun and how Islam will spread across the world,” the television quoted the man assaying.
The man, wearing traditional tribal clothes and sitting with an assault rifle, praised as martyrs dead Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud and Iraq-based al Qaeda leader Abu Musabal-Zarqawi, who was killed in 2006, in the video which resembled footage made by suicide bombers.
Shahzad, who was arrested before he could leave the United States, has pleaded guilty to attempting to set off a car bomb in New York’’s Times Square in May.

ISLAMABAD: At least 11 people have been reported injured in a gas pipeline blast here, Geo News reported Wednesday.
According to Geo News correspondent, at least 11 people were injured in an explosion of gas pipeline at a hotel of a Karachi company.
Some nearby shops also caught fire following the blast.
There is no confirmed report about fatalities thus far.

ISLAMABAD: Indian External Affairs Minister S M Krishna along with eight-member delegation arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Krishna will hold talks with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. The formal meeting between the two countries will be held on Thursday. Krishna said that Kashmir issue will be top on agenda during the meeting with his Pakistani counterpart.
It will be the first meeting between Qureshi and Krishna in Islamabad after their meeting in New Delhi at the time of Mumbai attacks in November 2008.

ISLAMABAD: Indian Minister for External Affairs S M Krishna upon his arrival here on Wednesday said the aim of his current visit to Pakistan is to convey a message of peace and friendship.
?I am here with a message of peace and friendship,? Krishna told reporters at the airport immediately after his arrival in Pakistan along with a 15-member delegation including Indian foreign secretary Nirupama Rao. A 35-member team of journalists also accompanied him.
The Indian External Affairs Minister expressed hope that his present visit to Pakistan will bring about positive outcome, saying ?India wants to resolve all the issues with Pakistan through a process of dialogue?. Krishna added that his country wishes to see Pakistan as a ?peaceful and prosperous? nation.
