Doctor?s negligence costs 8-yr old girl her life

CHINIOT: The girl divested of eyesight as a result of doctors? alleged negligence, died and has been laid to rest, and her father could not do anything rescue her, Geo News reported Sunday.

An 8-year girl, resident of Chhani Qureshian in Chiniot, incurred eye cancer as a result of doctors? alleged negligence.

According to the child?s mother Masarrat, Jawairiya had pain in her eye; accordingly, she was admitted to a Lahore hospital, where child?s eyes came out of their sockets as the doctors dispensed her the wrong medicine in the eye.

Following the incident, the doctors discharged the patient and snatched from them all prescriptions and reports. However, an ophthalmologist in Chiniot disclosed that Jawairiya contracted cancer in her eye.

Later on, she was shifted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital, where doctors discharged her, as her treatment was not available in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani took notice of the incident and announced Rs500,000 for her; however, the money could not make its way through to the unlucky family.

Divested of all hopes, the ill-fated family silently returned to Chiniot, where the child?s condition worsened this morning and ultimately, she expired leaving a big question mark on doctors? performance.
