KARACHI: A Round Table Conference (RTC) was held here at the residence of Asmat Siddiqui in connection with the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui ? A Pakistani lady scientist detained and being tried in US over charges of shooting US troops in Afghanistan.

Various orators including Senator Talha Mehmood, Sindh minister Raza Haroon, Human Rights Activist Iqbal Haider, Ameer JI Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Advisior to CM Sindh Sharmila Farooqi and Begum Atia Inayat also spoke on the occasion.

Speakers demanded of the cooperation of all Islamic countries aimed at early release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui from US detention.

Conference also urged upon Pakistani envoy to United States Husain Haqqani for intensive use of diplomatic channels for her early release, sources said.
