RAWALPINDI: The key meeting of the National Coordination Council (NCC) of Lawyers, against the government?s notification regarding the appointment of judges, will be held here at Rawalpindi High Court Bar (RHCB) on Sunday, Geo news reported.

According to sources privy to lawyers, the meeting will formulate the future course of action following the delay from government in fulfillment of Supreme Court?s rulings and delay in the appointments of judges at various high courts in country.

Earlier on Saturday, the lawyers? bars, all across Punjab province including provincial capital Lahore, staged strong reaction in protest against the notification of judges? appointments issued from government besides; lawyers also expressed satisfaction over the suspension of same notification from apex court, expressing their solidarity with judiciary, Geo news reported.

Responding to the notification on the judges? appointment, the president Lahore High Court Bar (LHCB) Justice (retd) Nasirah Javed in a statement termed the notification as unconstitutional and a conspiracy against judiciary.

Lawyers staged demonstration outside LHC till late night and kept chanting slogans in favour of Chief Justice and against the government in connection with the notification regarding judges? appointment.

Also lawyers saluted justice Khwaja Muhammad Shareef and justice Saqib Nisar over exhibition of bravery, vowing to extend all-out support till the supremacy of law and constitution.

Lawyers and officials belonging to Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura bars and other districts strongly flayed government notification and backed Supreme Court?s decision.
