LAHORE: Secretary Information Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal said a troika comprising of President House, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and retired Generals is behind the on-going campaign to mar the image of Nawaz Sharif and that if this campaign is not stopped within 48 hours, it would meet its just answer.

Addressing a joint press conference with PML (N) leaders Mian Marghoob and Sarfaraz Shah in Lahore Ahsan Iqbal said the President House is using MQM against PML (N).

?Though Pakistan People?s Party (PPP) has disregarded the Charter of Democracy, but one should not make fun of democratic system.?

He said 1992 operation was against dacoits in which only arrests were made, however extra judicial killings were practiced in 1996, when PPP was in power.

Ahsan Iqbal said, ?Nawaz Shairf removed General Asad Durrani from his office, as Benazir Bhutto favoured him, and now as a revenge he is raising propaganda against the former prime minister.?

He alleged the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has turned into a bankrupt institution after it was handed over to the friends of the President.

The campaign against Nawaz Sharif has been launched to divert the attention of the masses from the issues like, rental power, sugar crisis and the trial of Pervez Musharraf, he continued.

The Prime Minister should notice that who is trying to sabotage the efforts for reconciliation, he concluded.
